Materials
Yarn;
Durable Velvet, 100% polyester, 100g/180m/197yd
Yarn A: 2212, Linen, 1 ball
Yarn B: 2218, Hazelnut, 1 ball
Yarn C: 2150, Forest Green, 1 ball
Yarn D: 2133, Dark Mint, 1 ball
Yarn E: 222, Bordeaux, 1 ball
Yarn F: 310, White, 1 ball

Yarn G: 411, Mimosa, very small amount for the buckle
Durable Cosy fine, 58% cotton & 42% acrylic, 50g/105m/115yd

Crochet hook(s)
3.5mm/ US size E hook or size needed to achieve gauge for the main part of the doll
4.0mm/ US size G hook or half a size bigger than needed for main part for the hair
2.5mm hook or a whole size smaller than needed for the main part for the cheeks

Gauge
Work 7 stitches and 8 rows/rounds to measure 5x 5cm/ 1.97×1.97” using a 3.5mm/ US-E crochet hook or size needed to achieve gauge.

Head
Using yarn A and a 3.5mm/US-E hook.
Round 1: Crochet 6sc in a magic ring [6]
Round 2: *2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [12]
Round 3: *1sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [18]
Round 4: *2sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [24]
Round 5: *3sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [30]
Round 6: *4sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [36]
Round 7: *5sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [42]

Place safety eyes now between rounds 14-15, approx. 10sts apart. Begin to stuff, continue to add stuffing as we decrease to close the head.

Hair
Using Yarn B and a 4.0mm/ US-G hook.
Round 1: Crochet 8sc in a magic ring [8]
Round 2: *2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [16]
Round 3: *1sc, 2sc in next st; repeat from * until end of round [24]
Round 4: *2sc, 2sc in next st; repeat from * until end of round [32]

Slst into the next st to finish off. Leave a long tail and sew the hair to the head with the shaping of the fringe to the front.

Ears (make 2)
Using yarn A and a 3.5mm/US-E hook and working in rows.
Row 1: Crochet 4sc in a magic ring. Crochet 1ch, turn. Pull the ring closed [4]
Row 2: 4sc, 1ch, turn [4]
Row 3: 1dc in 1st st, 3ch and slst in 1st ch to form a picot, 1hdc into the same st as 1st dc, 3sc.
To finish off, crochet 1slst into the last st. Leave a long tail for sewing.
Sew the ears to the head just below the hair line approx. 5sts away from the eyes. One of the ears will be flipped the other way so that the points of the ears are both at the top.

Legs
Make two but don’t fasten off on the 2nd leg.
Using yarn C and a 3.5mm/US-E hook.
Round 1: Crochet 6sc in a magic ring [6]
Round 2: *2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [12]
Round 3: *1sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [18]
Round 4-10: 18sc [18]
Finish off on the first leg.
Don’t fasten off at the end of the 2nd leg, we will join the legs and continue to make the body.

Body
Round 11: Crochet 3ch, join to the first leg with 1sc. Sc in each st around the 1st leg (18 sts altogether) crochet 1sc in each of the 3ch, 18sc around the 2nd leg, 3sc into the other side of the 3ch. Place a stitch marker [42]
Round 12-16: 42sc [42]
Change to Yarn D.
Round 17: 42scbl [42]
Round 18: *12sc, scfl2tog; repeat from * until end of round [39]
Round 19: 39sc [39]
Round 20: *11sc, scfl2tog; repeat from * until end of round [36]
Round 21: 36sc [36]

Change to yarn E but keep yarn D attached.

Change to yarn D and cut Yarn E.

Begin to stuff now and continue to add stuffing as you go.

Slst into the next st to finish off. Make sure the body is stuffed well. Leave a long tail.

Jacket brim
Turn the body upside down, so that the legs are facing away from you. Using yarn D and a 3.5mm/US-E hook, join to the back of the body at round 17 where we worked in the back loops. We will now use the front loops left behind to work the brim of the jacket.
Crochet 2ch, dc into the same st of the body as where you joined again and in each st around the body: 42dc in total. Join to the top of the 2ch with a slst to finish off. Secure and weave in ends.
Sew the head to the body.

Arms (Make two)
Using yarn A and a 3.5mm/US-E hook.
Round 1: Crochet 6sc in a magic ring [6]
Round 2: *2sc in next st; repeat from * until end of round [12]
Round 3-5: 12sc [12]
Change to yarn D.
Round 6-18: 12sc [12]
Stuff the arm around two thirds full. Flatten the top of the arm and sc through both sets of sts to close. Sew the arms to the body approx. 1 row down from the top of the neck.

Hat
Using yarn E and a 3.5mm/US-E hook.
Round 1: Crochet 6sc in a magic ring [6]
Round 2: 6sc [6]
Round 3: *1sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [9]
Round 4: 9sc [9]
Round 5: *2sc, 2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [12]

Pompom
Using yarn F and a 3.5mm/US-E hook.
Round 1: Crochet 6sc in a magic ring [6]
Round 2: *2sc in next sc; repeat from * until end of round [12]
Round 3-4: 12sc [12]
Stuff the pompom
Round 5: *scfl2tog; repeat from * until end of round [6]
Finish off leaving a long tail.
Sew the pompom to the tip of the hat.
Sew the hat to the head using the tail of yarn E you left.

Cheeks (Make two)
Using yarn H and a 2.5mm hook
Crochet 8sc in a magic ring.
Slst into the next st to finish off. Sew the cheeks to the face.
Embroider a smile using yarn I.
Using yarn G, embroider a buckle over the belt at the front of the body.
