Materials
• 2.5 mm hook
• Wool yarn (I used Schachenmayr Merino, Extrafine 120)
– Light and dark gray
– Cream and red
• Black embroidery thread
• Stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Stitch marker

Abbreviations

sc- single crochet

*The size of the koala toy is approximately 15 cm with ring. It may vary though depending on the kind of yarn and hook size used.

How to make picot stitch:
*Crochet 4 chains;
*Insert your hook in the fourth chain from the hook ;
*Yarn over and draw the yarn through the stitch and through the loop on the hook.

Rnd 6: sc around [24]

White inner of the ear:
Rnd 1: sc in magic ring [6]

Fasten off.
Leave a tail for sewing.

How to Invisible Fasten off:
Using a needle, insert it in both loops of the second stitch after the last stitch. Then, insert it only in the back loop of the last stitch. Secure the yarn and use the remaining yarn tail for sewing.
Sew the white inner to the ear using the back ridge loops.

Nose
use the dark grey yarn
Ch 5. Stitches are worked around both sides of the foundation chain.
Rnd 1: start in second chain from the hook, inc in this st, 2 sc, 3 sc in last st.
Continue on the other side of the foundation chain, 3 sc, [10]

Rnd 2: inc, 3 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 3 sc, [15]
Rnd 3: sc, inc, 4 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 3 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 4 sc [20]
Rnd 4: sc around, [20]
Fasten off in the same way as we did the inners.
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.

Embroider the three claws on each leg.

Heart
Use the red yarn.

First piece:

Fasten off.

Second piece:

Don’t cut the yarn, we are going to connect two pieces together.
Lay the two pieces together. Then insert the hook in first stitch of first piece and pick up the yarn.

Make a sc and it will be the first stitch of heart and new beginning.

Rnd 6: sc around [36]

Stuff the heart light.

Fasten off.
Stuff the heart lightly.
With remaining tail of first piece, close the gap between.

Assembling
• Place the white inside piece of nose the wrong side to outside and in the center of head between rounds 17 and 24. Sew it to head using back loops of last round.
• Place the nose between rounds 14 and 22, stuff and sew the it to head.

• Place the ears between rounds 5 and 16 on both sides of head. Sew it around
• Point the line of eyes with pins. Embroider the smiling eyes 5 stitches long and one or two stitches height with eyelashes.
• Sew the head to body using the remaining tail of the body. Tighten the thread well and add the stuffing by sewing if you need.

• Sew the arms to body between rounds 22 and 27. Do it in the diagonally.
• Sew the heart to body on top and bottom.
• Connect the arm to heart.
• Finally, sew the legs to the body. And connect them to the body on top.
